Critical ERRORS of HEBREW Speakers in ENGLISH

!המבטא זה אתה

Speakers tend to import their sound system into another language.
Such substitutions may cause misunderstandings and also embarrassment.

Hebrew has 5 basic vowels while English has over a dozen vowels.

Hebrew speakers often interchange similar vowels in English, saying “I FILL good” instead of “I FEEL good“.

They substitute English vowels such as “PEN” vs “PAN” / “BALL” vs “BOWL“.

“TH” and American “R” sounds are often replaced by the perceived Hebrew equivalents – often “T” & “D” and uvular “R” – DIS vs THIS.

ACCENT MODIFICATION is EASY, and focuses on sound identification and correct placement.
